Seneca suffers a tough loss to Pemberton

Posted Saturday, October 27, 2007 by Doug Melegari
The Seneca Golden Eagles wanted to win this game. In fact, they thought they could. But for some reason, it just was not meant to be. The Seneca Golden Eagles lost to Pemberton. The final score was 3-6. This brings the Seneca Golden Eagle's record to 4-3.

Tom Schiraldi got a field goal for three points. These were the only points Seneca obtained in the game. In the last seconds of the fourth quarter, Pemberton scored a touchdown for their only points of the game. They went for a two point conversion, but it failed. So in those few plays at the end of the game, they earned six points. There was some good plays during the afternoon from Seneca. They include Dustin Worthman's interception.

The weather before the game was horrible with torrential rain and strong wind gusts. Early arrival fans and some of the players outside were drenched. Then the cold front moved through a few minutes before the start of the game and skies cleared up for the game. However, the field was soaked from days of rain and it was extremely muddy. This left the players by the end of the game to be covered with mud from head to toe.

The next game will be a home game at Washington Township on Friday, November 2, 2007. The game is expected to start at 7:00 p.m.
