Seneca takes on Camden, Seneca wins

Posted Saturday, October 13, 2007 by Doug Melegari

Surrounded by very supportive fans, the Seneca Golden Eagles were able to shutout Camden on Friday Night, with a 13 to 0 victory. The Golden Eagles have improved their record to 4 and 1 for the overall season record. They remain undefeated in the division.

In the first quarter of the game, Sean Carroll ran the ball in for a touchdown. Tom Schiraldi then gave the ball a good kick and got the extra point. In the second quarter, Quarterback Bill Limpert threw a nice touchdown pass to Sean Carroll for another touchdown. Tom Schiraldi attempted to kick the ball for the extra point, but the kick failed.

The highlights of the game include Nick Greco and Trent Waddle, as they both intercepted the football during the game. Nick Greco told me after the game it was a surprise that he just caught it and then tried to take off with the football. The interceptions stopped Camden in their tracks. The unfortunate event of the game, is that Tim Meise suffered another shoulder injury. This lead to Tom Schiraldi taking over the rest of the game and he owned. Schiraldi assisted Sean Carroll twice when making the touchdown runs.

The fans were very active and energetic on Friday Night. Some even painted their hair school colors. Others just cheered on their Golden Eagles. The cheerleaders and marching band also did well with their tasks and performances on Friday Night. Once again, the crowds were energized by them. In addition to the varsity success, the freshmen are unbelievable this year. They are now 5 and 0. Their score was 6 to 0, Camden.

Seneca's Golden Eagles will play a football game vs. Paul IV on Friday Night at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played away, at Paul IV.
